Manifesto of Sustainability
In the broadest sense, sustaining a phenomenon is not “consuming” it, but continuing to use it and keep it alive. Natural resources are also sustainable as long as they are used efficiently and continue to be transformed into new outputs without waste.
In other words, the more resources can be transformed into new business outputs instead of being consumed and wasted, the more sustainable they can become. Ultimately, this approach will allow for a pathway where organizations can iterate and use resources in a renewable way. This would allow for greater integration into the uninterrupted and renewable flow of energy through nature.
In the big picture, achieving such integration will bring about a network of stakeholders that make the most efficient use of resources in a circular flow. Thus, the most comprehensive and optimal circular economy model can be achieved.
Therefore, the aim should be to improve resource efficiency, integrate renewable energy, generate as much work output as possible from waste, and thus eliminate all forms of uncontrolled emissions.
