ISO 14064 is an international standard for the calculation and reporting of greenhouse gases. This standard was developed to enable organizations to measure, report, and manage their greenhouse gas emissions. The ISO 14064 standard consists of three main sections:
ISO 14064-1: Defines the requirements for the calculation and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions at the organizational level. This section provides a framework for measuring, monitoring, and reporting greenhouse gas emissions.
ISO 14064-2: Specifies the requirements for setting and achieving greenhouse gas reduction targets on a project basis. This section assesses the effectiveness of specific projects in reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
ISO 14064-3: Defines the verification and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of greenhouse gas emissions. This section ensures that emission reports are verified by an independent third party.
ISO 14064 helps organizations reduce their environmental impacts, achieve sustainability goals, and conduct environmental reporting in accordance with international standards. This standard provides a transparent pathway for companies and organizations to manage and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.
Additionally, greenhouse gas emissions are categorized into six different categories according to the ISO 14064-1 standard. These categories are detailed below.

- Category 1: Direct greenhouse gas emissions

- Category 3: Indirect greenhouse gas emissions from transportation
